Faculty Development Team

Associate Provost for Faculty Development since Fall 2024, Dr. Lueck is an Associate Professor of English. Her teaching builds on her research work by incorporating opportunities for exciting archival research on both historical and contemporary topics of interest to students, including women's education and Indigenous history.

Patti teaches introductory classes, classes on research methodology, drugs and behavior, developmental psychology with a focus on older adults, and advanced topics in neuroscience. She studies and is interested in new ways to engage students in the learning process. In collaboration with Faculty Collaborative Co-Directors, and as a Senior Faculty Associate, Patti assists in creating learning goals, curriculum, and content for New Faculty Cohorts and she helps develop and present in teaching CAFEs. In addition, she contributes to the planning, programming, facilitation, and leadership of the Chairs Leadership Forum. She is working this year with mid and late-career faculty in particular.

Dr Caitlin Flynn joined Faculty Development in Spring 2025. As Program Manager, Caitlin works to support faculty across all disciplines and career stages by creating and coordinating events, programs, and resources aimed at enriching pedagogy, building community, and facilitating an environment of continuous learning. She is committed to helping faculty grow as teachers, researchers, and campus leaders through collaboration and innovation.

Katia joined the Santa Clara staff in December 2023, and she is happy to be working in higher education. Originally from St. Petersburg, Russia, Katia has lived in Sydney, Australia, and she’s been in the Bay Area since 2017. Her background is in high tech--with particular expertise in web/UX design and project management. She graduated from St. Petersburg State University with a degree in Philology. She enjoys gardening, sports, and hanging out with her two boys.
